Simulation and self-organization of mind
pp. 189-218
Abstract
In recent decades several approaches to cognition have emerged that make use of cybernetic ideas of self-maintaining systems, and which involve computer programmes as metaphors for mentality or devices for its investigation. Under review in this paper are some views and contributions advanced within such lines of research and thought in the period 1966–77.
