the philosophy of logic and mathematics

pp. 185-198

Abstract

Łukasiewicz's book on the principle of contradiction in Aristotle, which had such a great impact upon the development of logic in Poland, was mainly a historical work. Its most important result consisted in defining the status of the principle of contradiction in the system of Aristotle's logic and in making distinctions between the three meanings of the principle of contradiction in the Stagirite's texts: the ontological, the logical, and the psychological.
