Approaches to ethics, approaches in ethics and the idea of a "universal ethics"
pp. 99-108
Abstract
The aim of the chapter is to deal with confusions related to the term "ethics' and show the different meanings in which it is used, to distinguish between approaches to ethics, i.e., views related to the function of ethics, and approaches in ethics, i.e., the points of departure of philosophers when they deal with problems of ethics, as well as to draw attention to the fact that in the history of ethics, besides the deontological approach to ethics and meta-ethics, there is also another approach which attempts to shed a strong light on the ethical human phenomenon, i.e., on problems of interhuman relations and on value problems.
