Abstract
Since the advent of the phenomenological movement in philosophy and psychology, phenomenology has been synonymous with a concern for the contents and structure of consciousness. Husserl, the founder of phenomenological philosophy, regarded consciousness—"that wonder of wonders"—as the primary theme for phenomenological inquiry.
