Abstract

The construction and performance of an identity collage is an exercise that is designed for high school or college students who are studying the visual arts as well as other academic disciplines across the curriculum. The exercise enables students to examine, expose, and critique the ways in which cultural images and ideas inscribe their bodies and construct their identities with reified cultural assumptions.
