Foolish wisdom

the philosopher as a comic figure

Dmitri Nikulin

pp. 113-131

Abstract

What is the role of character in the comic universe? Are comic characters just functions of the plot, or are they independent of it? Or, perhaps, is the plot defined either by the individual "logic" of each character or by the "logic" of the whole of the interaction of characters?
