Abstract

World-systems analysis is a perspective in creation. It is a holistic, unidisciplinary view of social reality. Its future development and its future intellectual utility will be a function of how plausible its empirical conclusions prove to be and how useful its analytic insights will be to those engaged in the real struggle over the transition to a new world order (Wallerstein: 2004b, 23).
