Abstract

This particular topic seems to me to be certainly at the centre of the philosophy of history. One of the problems that we spoke of in the very first session here was what was called the categories of meaningful action, and the concept of intention just is the concept that marks the relation between thought and meaning and action, and it is by far the most substantial of these concepts, whether for the historian or for the lawyer. So I think we are at the centre of our proper concern.
