A priori schemes in quantum mechanics
pp. 239-254
Abstract
The present work explores the possibility that the standard formulation of quantum mechanics might be viewed within a gnoseological perspective of Kantian type. In particular it seems possible to maintain that the theory of knowledge described in the second edition of the Critique of Pure Reason is not essentially jeopardised by quantum theory, but for what concerns the structure of the a priori defined by Kant. On a number of grounds, however, one might argue, albeit not fully conclusively, that even the schemes chosen by Kant are justified by quantum physics.
