From the history of the logic of individual propositions

E. M. Barth

pp. 141-179

Abstract

In English the expression "propositio singularis' is translated as 'singular proposition", in French as «proposition singulière», in German sometimes as "einzelnes Urteil" (Kant, Herbart), sometimes as 'singuläres Urteil" (Hegel). There are authors who classify propositions in another way than the usual one and they often introduce a special terminology. Ramus speaks in terms of «enonciation propre» and of "axioma proprium" (IV-15) and Pfänder ascribes different meanings to "Singularurteile", "Einzelurteile", and "Individualurteile" (IV-21).
