Semiotics in Sweden

pp. 485-504

Abstract

Semiotics as a field of research in Sweden is remarkable neither for diversity nor depth, nor does it have a history proper. It has no institutional basis as a discipline in its own right. Semiotics exists as a number of isolated efforts within separate scholarly disciplines and as a number of unrelated contributions by poets, critics, and journalists.
