Introduction

thinking about work in work based learning

Paul Gibbs

pp. 1-5

Abstract

Much has been written about the engagement, transferability skills and practices of work-based workplace learning. Leading scholars have written books, edited journals and disseminated their thoughts through articles and conferences. All these contributions have been welcomed into the growing body of theoretical, practice and praxis-based literature on notion of work-based learning, but a collection of works by senior scholars on the subject from the wide range of their cultural, disciplinary and edifying perspectives has not yet been made available. This is the opportunity this book seeks to grasp.
