Self-organization and computability

Moshe Koppel Henri Atlan

pp. 201-209

Abstract

In this paper we will use some ideas from the theory of computable functions in order to clarify certain imperfectly understood aspects of the theory of self-organizing systems [von Foerster 1960, Nicolis and Prigogine 1977, Eigen and Schuster 1979, Kauffman 1984].
