Abstract

On January 19, 2017, Professor Lester E. Embree, at the age of 79, passed away at the Boca Raton Regional Hospital in Florida, USA after months’ struggle against a spinal fracture. His death means a very great loss to the phenomenological movement not only in the United States but also in the world. He was exceptionally energetic both in spirit and in body. He very often flew around the world, reading papers at phenomenological conferences. He published and edited a multitude of volumes and papers, dealing with various topics with a coherent viewpoint: doing phenomenology. He bequeathed great legacies to us.
